Rest is critical; it is one of the main things you should be focusing on outside of the gym. There are other things you need to consider as well as what you’re drinking and what you’re eating. The importance of rest, sleep and exercise should be steady throughout your life.
SO How is rest important for your weight loss journey?
As you may know already, there are many purposes of exercising. Here are a few:
- to increase muscle mass
- improve your endurance
- for cardiovascular health
- and much more.
But all of these goals will be ineffectively not met if you are not getting the rest you need. So resting is important for your weight loss journey. Because without it, you will not be able to see the benefits of the exercises you are doing.
The importance of rest, sleep and exercise can be so beneficial to your weight loss.
Rest, sleep gives your body the time it needs to be able to:
- Recover for your workout
- Conserve the energy you need for your day to day life
- Repair damaged muscles
- Build up the muscles you’ve worked on during your work out.
Sleep is the key to gain healthy weight. Making sure we get the full 8 hours of rest to be able to produce the growth hormones to build those muscle is what is so important for your weight loss journey

My advice to you is to set yourself a goal to at least fit in a day 7-8 hours of sleep while trying to fit in a workout session. If you are looking to lose weight, the best thing I would say to do is make sure you maintain 3-4 day a week where you exercise.
The importance of this is, it allows you to be able to have a balance between both your rest and your sleep to help improve your weight loss journey.

For you to be able to build the necessary muscle, you need to recovery through having rest. Do not think that you build muscle while you’re in the gym because it does not work like that.
While you are training, you tear fibres and these repair and grow into healthier muscle tissue while you are resting.
Recovery time is apart of the importance of rest, sleep and exercise. Because of without proper rest, your fitness regimen achieved correctly. You will not be able to work harder in the gym, build the muscle you want quicker and have enough energy to work out.
When your muscle has recovered, you will come back stronger than you were before.

There is a difference between the number of hours you get to rest, for example, Poor sleep(4.5 hours a night) and a Healthy regular sleep (8.5 hours a night). I have a habit of eating unhealthily when I am bored, but I had to stop that. The importance of rest, sleep and exercise has an impact on your weight because being sleep deprived can or may entail lead to gaining weight, by the increase in how much food you eat like a person or decrease in the energy you burn as a person.
When you are especially running off little to no sleep, your hormones may get thrown off. This hormone increase can affect your hunger and possibly your appetite. Being awake in the middle of the night can make it seem you are hungry because you are up at a more extended period.
Having Poor sleep habits, as inconsistent sleeping patterns can negatively affect your weight. This is very rest, sleep and exercise is too important and will affect your weight loss journey in the long run. Get into a perfect night routine to get you back into a healthier lifestyle.
