Great post, I just started a blog on photography and am trying to do more blog commenting. I think it would be helpful to set up some kind of plan. Like, I will publish 5 comments a day on other people’s blogs, build this many pins, etc. Currently, I find myself just sort of winging it every day. Anyway, great post, been also reading Neil Patel and using ubbersuggest on his site when building my posts for onsite SEO. Have a great day!

This is such a great post! So often I see people leave 4 word comments on my blog that have no value or add to the conversation. This is probably why so many of us don’t have dofollow links set up for comments. I do use CommentLuv which is a plugin that allows my readers to share their current post with their comment for their benefit. It’s a fun and free plugin and this isn’t an affiliate link – I just really like it!

I hope you check it out. What it does is, it ( a plug-in) allows you to post one of your Top 10 posts and it’s a backlink. It’s pretty cool. It’s working now (on some of the pages – providing there’s a comment section on the post/page).

Thanks for this post! How do you do backlink through comments? Do I have to put a link to my site on the comment itself?

      April 12, 2020 / 7:40 pm

Thank you. To do backlink through comments you have to do is just comment on a post something valuable to the relates post to start a conversation with the blogger. You can either adding your link into the comment or when you have comment normally it tells you to add your website link. That’s can create a backlink to your site if the comment gets noticed by search engines.

That’s for the post! Have you managed to quantify how much DA/PA has gone up by commenting on X amount of sites a week?
I suppose that comes down to the sites you are commenting on, but that would be a really interesting test. This is something I need to add to my weekly TODO list. Thanks!

  8. April 13, 2020 / 4:55 am

I also am a newbie on this. I try to add comments that are meaningful. This says a lot to me but I also have questions. When I get comments, I try to always respond. Is that the right thing to do? I’m confused on Follow and no Follow. Is Neil Oatel a paid course or can you just search it on Google?

    • lifetimeflux
      April 23, 2020 / 12:30 pm

Yes, it is always good to try a respond if you need. I would definitely say it is the right thing to do. The difference between no-follow and do-follow links is that no-follow links don’t contribute to anything. But the do-follow link show on search engines for people to click on. Finally, the Neil Patel site is just a search on google. Hope this helps you.

Maybe you can help me out. I have CommentLuv installed on my website. But I’m not able to leave an updated post from my website when I leave a comment. Does it only work for people coming to my website that are leaving “their” comments?

Please help, I don’t know if this plug-in is worth keeping.

  16. October 19, 2020 / 4:46 am

Hi Porsha, I was wondering if I could get your help. “This” comment form is the same one that I use on my website. The problem is that I’ve been using so many variations of comments I’m not sure which one this actually is. Could you please tell me so I can update my other posts/pages? Some of them have and some don’t. I hope it’s not theme related. I’ve tried Constant Contact, Contact Form 7, and ConvertKit. So I’ve ruled out those three. I finally got my CommentLuv to work so I would like to update a lot of the posts that don’t have a comment section on them. I hope you can help me with this, that’s out of the ordinary.
